Below you will find audio recordings of the Italian text of Dante’s Divine Comedy, read by Francesco Bausi, a professor at the Università della Calabria and a native Florentine. Professor Bausi’s style of reading is direct and not overly affected, a lettura piana (plain reading) that provides a welcome alternative to highly dramatic versions like that of the actor Roberto Benigni.
We begin with the first 11 cantos of Inferno and will continue to add more until the culmination of the project.
